Context
EllieMD is an early-stage weight loss program looking to give patients a calmer, more guided experience than the typical clinical intake. I joined as a freelance product designer to shape the patient-facing product end-to-end — from first impression through ongoing program tracking.
The problem
The founder needed to move fast from concept to a credible, testable product without losing clarity. Patients in this space are often overwhelmed by medical questionnaires, pricing, and program mechanics — the experience had to feel supportive, not transactional, while still capturing the data the clinical team needs.
Approach
- 01
Partnered directly with the founder on information architecture, visual direction, and the core engagement loop of the program.
- 02
Designed and prototyped the full patient journey in Lovable — onboarding, intake, and program tracking — so ideas could be validated in a working product, not just static mockups.
- 03
Shaped the tone and visual system to feel patient-friendly and trustworthy, balancing warmth with the precision a health product requires.
- 04
Iterated quickly with the founder on flows and content, using the live prototype as the shared source of truth across product, brand, and clinical input.
